1) Question: How can I determine if consumers have had problems with a prospective mover?

Their telephone number is 202-393-8000. In 34 years of operation we have only had one complain with BBB.

2) Question: Does the company require a non refundable "deposit" to hold a moving date?
Our answer: Big Truck Movers does not require a deposit to hold a moving date.

3) Question: Does the company raise prices at peak times, ie. End of the month or weekends? Our answer: Big Truck Movers does not raise prices at any of those times.

4) Question: Who will be driving the truck and can you fax me their driving record? How many years of truck driving experience does he have? How many years has the driver worked in the moving industry?
Our answer: The truck driver is the owner of Big Truck Movers, having over 30 years experience driving trucks, and over 34 years experience in the moving industry. We are willing to fax you his MVA report.

5) Question: Who is the moving crew? Are they honest and experienced? Can they work in an organized system?Our answer: I personally hire each member of my crew and I place an emphasis on honesty, punctuality and methodical work.

6) Question: Does the truck have the proper equipment?
Our Answer: Our truck has 5 dollies, 4 fire extinguishers, security straps, heavy duty pads, ropes, all the tools to work on your particular job, and specialty equipment for items such as pianos and appliances.

7) Question: Who will handle any "situation" that might arise during the moving?
Our answer: Any concern during the move can be addressed directly with the owner of the moving company who is present at every move. I live from referrals and I want you to refer your friends and family.



8) Question: Does the company provide secure, clean fire protected storage facilities?
Our answer: We can provide short, long-term, and emergency storage for your goods. Assuming the mover has storage facilities, they should be clean, protected by an effective security system and staffed by trained personnel to assure the safekeeping of your property. We have access to Storage Village which is protected by a 24-hour security system. The facility has been built with a high degree of fire protection.
9) Question: Does the company disassembly and re-assembly your furniture? Do they offer to disconnect and re-connect your major appliances?
Our answer: Yes. In order to provide your furniture with the best possible care, our staff will disassemble and reassemble large pieces of furniture or antiques.
